How Mold Remediation Actually Works
Proper mold remediation follows a defined sequence: fix the water source, establish containment with negative air pressure, remove porous contaminated materials, HEPA vacuum and clean non-porous surfaces, dry everything to verified moisture targets, and then confirm the result with independent clearance testing.
Knowing the correct sequence is how you evaluate a quote. If a proposal skips the water source, or offers to verify its own work, those are the two most common places a remediation job goes wrong.

Establish what is present, how far it extends, and what is keeping it wet. This routinely changes a remediation scope by thousands of dollars.
Fix the water source
Any proposal that does not identify and price this is incomplete, whatever else it includes.
Remediate with containment
Containment and negative air pressure as standard, porous contaminated material removed rather than treated.
Verify with a third party
Clearance testing by someone who did not do the removal. A contractor grading their own work is not verification.
